Work

My work is a compilation of water/landscape, some figure work, abstract and minimalist interpretation of form and color. As evident, photo realism is not something I aspire to create. I enjoy experimenting with applications of various textures, hues and values. Although my palette can be rich and varied, most all colors are mixed from primaries. All paintings are oil on stretched canvas.

In addition to painting I have begun creating a series of outdoor sculpture. Presently these are taking form as stand-alone pieces that can be presented in various postures or as configurations with multiple pieces. Material is 4x4 pressure treated pine, sanded smooth and coated with satin marine varnish. This all weather outdoor finish will not discolor with time, nicely enduring our New England winters.

This body of work on display is but a sampling of inventory that I will rotate through the site on timely basis.

After an extensive and eventful career working in the commercial visual arts; publishing, corporate communications and advertising, I am currently instructing fine arts at Manchester Community College, New Hampshire.
